Having smelly feet can be downright embarrassing, Just imagine for a second, you are gathered among friends or family and when you take your shoes, your feet start to smell. And although you haven’t done anything wrong, you have to face a lot of embarrassment because of it.
But why do feet smell?
Is it the socks? Is it the shoes or is it your feet? Let’s take a moment to assess this. Smelly feet are caused by a combination of things. In the human body, each of our feet has about 250,000 sweat glands which can produce more than a pint of sweat throughout the day.
That’s a lot of sweat.
All this moisture when kept pressed against your feet all day with no perspiration to evaporate into, it becomes the cause of sweat. But let me make this clear that sweating is not the issue here, it’s the bacteria that live on your skin which eats the sweat and produce isovaleric acid which is the source of your smelly feet.
So how can you say goodbye to smelly feet and save yourself from the embarrassment in front of your friends?
For starters, you can try to reduce the sweat produced. But how does that really work? If you are going to stay outdoor outside with hot weather, an easy choice to make would be to not wear thick socks and shoes that can cause excessive amounts of sweat.
Another thing that you can do is take care of breath-ability. No, I don’t mean you have to carry around an oxygen mask. You have to make choices for your feet that allow them to breathe. Don’t wear tight shoes, don’t wear socks that are too thick and also start changing up your shoes every other day – you don’t have to wear the same shoes every day.
But is this going to work?
By making the smart choices, there is a strong chance that you are going to be able to reduce the chances of having smelly feet. But hey there is also a treatment for everything and surely smelly feet must have something available.
I have seen many people try out different powders, creams and all kinds of products they can get their hands. Sure these products might seem viable and maybe a smart choice for the short term but it’s not the solution you can rely on for life.
Think about all the hassle and the cost of having to afford such products for daily use. Seems too much.
By this time, I am sure you just want to hit your head somewhere trying to figure a way out from your smelly feet? If there was a way that you could get rid of smelly feet through something, I would suggest the usage of tea tree oil.
