In recent times, there has been a lot of stress over clean eating and the benefits all of us can achieve from it. Sure, the idea of eating clean sounds great when you can get everything you need but how do you achieve that with no clue what so ever about the basic understanding of cooking.

From an outsiders point of view, cooking seems easy but when you have to actually do it yourself, it’s the most difficult thing to do. And everybody who can, especially the ladies deserve a lot of appreciation for being able to put a meal together in a way only magicians can do.

Why is it difficult to cook?

For starters, most of us have never actually tried to cook anything. I don’t know about you guys but up until I was an undergrad, the only amount of cooking I had done was the equivalent of a cooking a fried egg.

It’s hard to really get the gist of it. Honestly, it is. But surely there must be a way around it. Let me tell you, my friends, there absolutely is.

But before you get started on your journey to being able to cook and not sucking at it, you have to leave something behind and that is excuses. All our lives, we have let excuses get in the way of what we want to achieve.

If you can do other house chores like cleaning the dishes, putting IKEA furniture together then cooking is just like another house chore. Sure it does require a lot more time but you get the idea of what I am trying to say.

Tip #1 – Try Taking On Any Dish and Finish With Fresh Herbs

You can cook any dish you want. You can try making pasta, pizza or just plain old curry. To add more flavour to anything that you cook, you can try finishing off with a a combination of chopped fresh herbs. These fresh herbs which might include chives, parsley or basil can be used to freshen up and dress just about anything from a chicken breast to any curry you make.

Tip # 2 – Start Grilling Lettuce

Just cut some romaine in two pieces, pour oil and toss it on the grill. You are set to go and this trick can be used for any sort of party that you are having at home. Put on some vinegar and a handful of parmesan sauce and you can be a real crowd pleaser at these parties.

Tip #3 – Stalk the Open Kitchen

As a person who wants to really learn how to cook – why not try observing people who have been doing this for a while now. So start hitting those open kitchen restaurants and sit as close to the bar as possible. You can observe as a bystander and really assess how things are going. If the cooks are not busy you can even try getting tips on seasoning, making sauces and letting the meat rest.

Tip #4 – Get The Right Equipment (Table Top Fryer)

As a professional, if you did not have the right equipment, you would not be able to do your job right? If a mechanic had no tools, he will have nothing. If a designer did not have the software, his work would be limited majorly.

Similarly, as a aspiring cook at home, you want to have the right equipment and getting a tabletop fryer is a must. From frying croquet to scotch eggs – everything is now easier.

Tip #5 – Using Ingredients As Needed

Another important tip for an aspirant cook at home would be to be able to understand ingredients. I mean adding salt to your evening dinner sounds as easy it is but you have to get it right. Too much and you have a problem on your hands and too fewer means, you’re not enjoying your meals properly.

Cooking is an art. Just like basketball – you can learn to pass, dribble, and shoot separately but only when you combine all three, you can explode your way to having triple-doubles on the dime.
